Managing Director Subsidiary Australia (m/f/d)

Main tasks

Development and implementation of market strategy

  • Development of strategies and concepts according to the corporate strategy to increase market success in the respective region (Australia and New Zealand) for sales and service
  • Implementation of the strategic roadmaps and participation in shaping the roadmaps by introducing regional objectives
  • Budget and medium-term planning for the company
  • Discussion and coordination of budget planning with the business unit & global management
  • Definition of necessary framework conditions including resources for the successful implementation of the strategies

Tasks of market development

  • Achieving the agreed sales targets and results
  • Developing new or slightly tapped markets
  • Consolidation and expansion of existing core markets and customer relationships
  • Management of the subsidiary
  • Establishing, maintaining and further developing a potential-oriented business plan for the respective region
  • Participation in important customer meetings (e.g. contract negotiations with major customers)
  • Review of offers, contract documents and granting or coordination of approvals
  • Planning and coordination of regionally significant sales activities (trade fairs, conferences, etc.)

Organization development

  • Personnel development & organizational: management, control and development of the staff
  • Coordination and optimization of internal processes according to given standards for operational efficiency
  • Conducting target agreement discussions, controlling and ensuring that employees achieve their goals
  • Controlling & quality management: planning and control of operational key figures
  • Delivery of relevant reports to business unit & global management

Personality profile

  • Immediate availability
  • Bachelor`s degree and / or master degree in business administration or engineering
  • Years of experience: >10 years. Experience in the machine building industry is preferred
  • Strategic mindset & long-term vision capabilities
  • Capable of problem solving, decision making and failure analysis
  • Knowledge in business administration
  • Excellent marketing skills and business sense for achieving results
  • Track record in sales and leadership of sales groups for capital goods
  • Strong negotiation skills and knowledge in contract management. Track record in growing sales structures and efficient management of corporate organizations
  • Fluent in English (speaking and writing), other languages especially German of advantage
  • Intercultural competencies necessary to work with european colleagues
  • Strong personality and high level of team building skills and social competence
  • Ability to work independently and target-oriented 
  • Ability to effectively manage people and resources across varying departments and operations
